Wedding Gown Preservation Company was founded in 1913 by Sara and Joseph Schapiro in Endicott, New York. Sara and Joseph specialized in the preservation and alteration of wedding gowns. Together, they created the family formula which is still in use today. We are now a third generation family-owned business operated by the Schapiro family. We have had generations of brides preserve their gowns with us.

All wedding gowns are professionally cleaned and preserved by our certified specialists.In very rare instances, a gown will yellow over a period of time. In the unlikely event this occurs, we are happy to reprocess the gown at no charge.Should we be unable to remove the yellow, our bride’s preservation cost will be refunded. Beads and sequins are excluded. Improper handling of the gown may cause damage and compromise the true preservation of the gown.
Once you receive your kit follow these 6 steps.
Fill out Order Form and Alternate Delivery Card. Please note our Celebrity Line Upgrade Option.
Place the gown and any accessories in the bag provided. Include white and yellow copies of the Order form, Alternate Delivery card and payment for additional items in the bag with gown. Seal the bag with the twist tie provided. Place bag in box.
Fold don both flap “A”‘s. Then fold flap “B”‘s down over them. Close top of box with tape provided. NOTE: tape provded needs moisturizing. (you may seal the box with your own tape if preferred.
Place the UPS shipping label on the box top. Arrange for UPS to pick up your box by calling 1 800 PICKUPS.
Attach stain stickers to areas of the gown that may need special attention. Please use only the stickers that are provded. Other stickers may damage the gown. (There is no need to mark the hemline as it is the most commonly soiled area.)
Remove the bottom portion of the UPS shipping label and place in on the back of the pink order form. Keep the pink copy for your records.

Do I need to have my gown cleaned before sending to your company?
No, Wedding Gown Preservation Company will handle all the cleaning of your gown to ensure a proper preservation.
What exactly is the process you use to clean the gown?
We have several different processes that are used for cleaning. Each gown is evaluated upon its arrival and the best cleaning process for that particular gown is used. All of our processes are safe, gentle and environmentally safe. Your gown is then fitted on an acid-free bust form and packed in our acid-neutral preservation chest. Please note shoulder pads and bust pads must be removed as they could cause damage to the gown over time. They will be wrapped in tissue paper and packed underneath your gown.
What stains are removed with your process?
We are able to remove approximately 95% of all stains – including tar, blood, perspiration, grass, mud, grease, and food, being the most common, as well as any sugar stains from cake icing, wine and other beverages.
What can be seen in the display window?
You will be able to view your gown and veil. Any other items will be positioned at the bottom of the window, where possible, or packed underneath your dress.
If I need to open up the preservation chest at any time in the future, will that jeopardize or void he guarantee?
Your guarantee will not be voided. However, you should take care to reseal the chest with the resealing materials provided. We have also enclosed gloves with which to handle the gown. If your gown is handled excessively it should be cleaned and preserved again.
